Liberty, MO – Dakota Bodies, a quality utility and service truck bodies manufacturing company, announced that it will expand in Liberty, investing more than $21.9 million and creating 172 new jobs. The company’s expansion is significantly improving the facility’s overall manufacturing capacity and customer experience.

“Dakota Bodies’ expansion in Liberty is another strong example of a strategic investment that’s driving Missouri’s economy forward,” said Governor Mike Kehoe.

“With more than $21.9 million invested and 172 new jobs being created, this project brings meaningful opportunities to hardworking Missourians and reinforces our state’s reputation as a place where businesses can grow and succeed.”

Dakota Bodies is doubling the size of its manufacturing footprint in Liberty to support its long-term commitment to growth. The facility’s upgrades include advanced laser cutting technology, state-of-the-art metal forming capabilities, and enhanced power coating systems. These improvements will ensure faster production, shorter lead times, and more consistent customer delivery. This expansion is a direct response to growing demand from the company’s distributor and fleet partners.

“At ATW Truck Equipment, our goal is to lead the industry in quality, innovation, new products, and the fastest lead times, while continuing to invest in a best-in-class work environment for our team,” said Braden Edwards, Senior Vice President and General Manager of ATW Truck Equipment. “This new facility strengthens our ability to deliver on that commitment — giving our customers faster lead times, greater capacity, and a more reliable partner as they grow their own businesses.”

As part of the ATW Truck Equipment family of brands – alongside CM Truck Beds, PJ Truck Beds, and Warrior Truck Beds – Dakota Bodies continues to expand its role as a leading provider of truck equipment solutions across North America.

“Dakota Bodies’ decision to expand in Liberty and create 172 new jobs is a strong win for the community and a testament to Missouri’s skilled workforce and pro-business climate,” said Michelle Hataway, Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. “We’re proud to partner with local leaders to support this incredible growth that will deliver meaningful impact for families in the Liberty area.”

For this expansion, Dakota Bodies will benefit from the Missouri Works Program, a tool that helps companies expand and retain workers by providing access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation. Dakota Bodies is estimated to receive $1,385,828 through the Missouri Works Program subject to verification of program requirements.
