14 Nov, 2014
Sungevity, Inc., a leading global provider of residential solar services, has selected Kansas City, Missouri, as the location for the company’s new sales and service center. The company’s officials made the announcement today with the Kansas City Area Development Council.
Sungevity expects to create 595 jobs during the next five years in Kansas City. The company continues to evaluate multiple office properties in Kansas City’s central downtown area and expects to have a lease agreement by early December 2014.
“Kansas City’s geographical location, depth of professional talent and inviting business climate make it the ideal location for our new sales and service center,” says Andrew Birch, CEO, Sungevity. “Our future Kansas City-based staff will enable us to extend our best-in-class solar service offering to more people in more places.”
Sungevity evaluated multiple markets across the United States before selecting the Kansas City region. The company’s Kansas City operation will employ a broad range of positions including sales and operations managers and trainers, solar sales consultants and design engineers, who will work with residential homeowners, assisting them with design and finance options that make it possible for them to reap the many benefits of solar energy adoption.
Sungevity’s new sales and service center will complement the company’s headquarters in Oakland, California, and will be used to service the company’s expanding base of customers across various time zones. Sungevity currently operates in 11 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, the Netherlands and through a joint venture in Australia.
