Israeli Cybersecurity Company Cybecs Chooses Tampa for Regional Headquarters
01 Dec, 2023
Tampa, FL — Cybecs, an Israeli cybersecurity company, announced that it is establishing its regional headquarters in Tampa. The company plans to create 150 jobs over the next three years in roles such as information technology, software development, sales and human resources.
“We were looking to expand with an office in the Eastern time zone, particularly the Southeast, and Tampa stood out to us because of the strong tech presence here,” said Asaf Levy, CEO of Cybecs. “We’re excited to build a strong team in Tampa, tapping into the deep pool of tech talent that this growing city has to offer.”
Cybecs, which offers rapid technological solutions to counter cyber threats for global operations, is initially leasing space in downtown Tampa as it ramps up its operations in Tampa. Cybecs offers customized/personalized end-to-end services to companies across a wide range of industries, including defense, e-commerce, banking, healthcare, transportation, aviation, education, and various others, just to name a few. It joins a growing list of cybersecurity companies choosing to expand to Tampa, including Ridgeline International, Rapid7 and OPSWAT.
The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council provided a community and labor market overview to make the case for Tampa, and it will continue to assist the company with support for training grants and finding skilled talent with its partners at CareerSource Tampa Bay and local universities.
The Tampa Bay EDC has seen an increase interest in foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, particularly in the Financial and Professional Services and Information Technology sectors. More than 40% of Tampa Bay EDC’s new prospects this year have been international companies. “We continue to see interest from not only technology companies but also international companies choosing Tampa to launch or expand their U.S. operations,” said Angel Gonzalez, chair of the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council and regional president of SouthState Bank. “We welcome Cybecs to our community, which is another great addition to our thriving technology and cybersecurity ecosystem.”
