Manufacturing Institute Releases Workforce Ready Guides
04 Nov, 2014
In partnership with The White House’s release of the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership 2.0 Report: Accelerating U.S. Advanced Manufacturing, The Manufacturing Institute launched on October 27 how-to-guides to build a workforce-ready talent pipeline in communities across the country.
For the past year, The Manufacturing Institute has worked with the nation’s top manufacturers, educators, and community leaders to tackle the skills gap with a focus on results. Leading the workforce efforts to “Secure the Talent Pipeline” were Eric Spiegel, president and CEO of Siemens, USA, and Dr. Annette Parker, president of South Central College and a member of the institute’s Education Council.
The institute has created a variety of tool kits that provide step-by-step implementation of the Skills Certification System, helping manufacturers, educators and community leaders develop a plan to develop and grow a pipeline to ensure a supply of future skilled talent.
