New Level of Local Data Access via Recruit v4.5

The economic development websites of the five counties comprising the South Carolina I-77 Alliance now offer a powerful new level of intuitive, local data reporting capabilities.

The S.C. I-77 Alliance is providing this free online resource through its own website and those of its partner economic development agencies in York, Chester, Lancaster, Fairfield and Richland counties. Recruit v4.5 will instantly position each economic development office as the most technologically advanced repository of local economic data in their community.

Recruit v4.5, from GIS Webtech, features demographic, economic, and socio-economic data, coupled with property listings, built on a platform powered by the latest advancements in online mapping technology. The Alliance and its member counties’ unprecedented new capabilities will highlight individual and regional strengths to a number of economic development stakeholders that include site selection professionals, entrepreneurs, new and existing industries, transportation and land use planners, institutes of higher education and real estate developers.

“Here’s a good example,” says Rich Fletcher, President and CEO of the Alliance. “You can easily retrieve detailed data to a query like this: how many Millennial-age workers live within a 20-minute drive, in rush-hour traffic, from my prospective location? This is an application turning knowledge into power.”

“Legacy technologies, like the GPS we’re so used to on our phones and in our cars, have been limited to navigation applications. Recruit adds value to that technology, supplementing it with thousands of local data variables and state-of-the-art mapping. GPS provides direction, Recruit provides insight.”

The Recruit v4.5 solution relies on the mapping power of Esri Demographics, provider of a regularly updated data set that aggregates more than 15,000 demographic and socioeconomic variables. Workforce and wage data are featured resulting from collaboration with the Alliance’s economic data provider Chmura Economicsand, real estate listings are fed from LocateSC in partnership with South Carolina’s Department of Commerce.

“In other words, no more settling for approximations,” says Christopher Finn, the Alliance’s Director of Research and Marketing. “This all-new level of knowledge management in each of the Alliance counties’ platforms, and our own, fundamentally improves our region’s ability to attract new industrial and corporate facilities.”
