To highlight the current and potential benefits of data, groups from around the country will participate in Data Innovation Day on Thursday, Jan. 24. Data Innovation Day is sponsored by the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF).
“Thanks to advancements in computing, networking and informatics we are currently experiencing a data revolution and the possibilities for transforming government, industry and society are nearly limitless,” says Daniel Castro, senior analyst, ITIF. “We have organized the first Data Innovation Day to showcase these opportunities and offer policy recommendations that can maximize the potential benefits of data innovation.”
With a theme of “Big Data, Bigger Opportunities,” the day seeks to raise awareness about the important innovations and opportunities that come from the increased use of information by the public and private sector.
ITIF will host a series of events from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Washington, D.C., which will include two panel discussions on the future of data in government and in industry. There will also be a series of demonstrations of the latest applications of data analytics technologies.
The events are free and open to the public. Click here for more information or to register.
