LAN Cargo Expands in Miami
06 Jun, 2014
The Beacon Council announces the expansion of LAN Cargo, the creation of 300 new jobs and $15 million in new capital investment within five years.
“For LATAM Airlines Group, investing in a sustainable presence that benefits the economies and communities where our employees and customers live and work is a priority,” says Cristian Ureta, CEO, LAN Cargo, an affiliate of LATAM Airlines Group.
LAN Cargo is building a new maintenance hangar facility at Miami International Airport.
“LAN Cargo’s investment and expansion show that Miami-Dade County continues to be the logical choice for the flow of goods and services between the U.S. and Latin America,” says Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez.
The Beacon Council assisted the company with state incentives including the Economic Development Transportation Fund and Quick Response Training. The Miami-Dade Aviation Department was also instrumental in bringing the new facility to Miami.
